Repeat Prescriptions

We would ask that patients do not pre-order more medication that you actually need. This is to ensure that an artificial shortage is not created.

We cannot issue repeat prescriptions via telephone. The easiest way to order your prescriptions is on the NHS app or through online access.

If you want to set up online access in order to request your prescriptions we can do this over the phone, simply by checking some personal details and security checks with you. You can find more information here on GP online services.

If you are not able to order your prescription through one of these online services, you can post your request to us, or drop it in the post-box outside of the building by the front door.

Please do not enter the building!

Nominated Pharmacy

All prescriptions are now being sent electronically to a pharmacy of your choice, to reduce the risk to you, and our staff, by patients coming in to collect paper prescriptions.

You can nominate your preferred pharmacy by informing us over the phone, at your local pharmacy, or as an online message when ordering your prescription.

Repeat Prescriptions

There are 3 ways to request repeat prescriptions

  • Online: We have a quick and easy way to order prescriptions via our on-line facility. You need to register with reception for this service and it is available to all patients over the age of 18. To access our online services click here.
  • Mail: Post your request with a SAE to: East Parade Surgery, Mowbray Square Medical Centre, Harrogate, HG1 5AR. We will send it back to you.
  • Drop Off: Use the prescription drop off box by the front door or hand it in directly to the ground floor receptionist.

Repeat Prescriptions: The Facts

We need at least 48 hours from receiving your request to process your prescription. So please allow two additional days if posting.

Regular medication reviews are needed for patients on long term medication. We will let you know if you need to see a GP before we can issue your prescription.

We provide prescriptions lasting two months for convenience and cost saving for patients. Please do not order medications you do not need. Please do not stock pile medications.

Patients on regular medication may find it cheaper to purchase a pre-payment certificate. Please ask your chemist for a form or enquire at reception.
