COMPLEMENTARY MEDICINE

Therapies such as chiropractic, osteopathy, massage, aromatherapy and reflexology are not available free of charge under the NHS. Although we cannot recommend any particular providers, there are several such therapists in the town who give an effective and useful service. If you are considering such therapy, we are happy to discuss this with you.

MATERNITY SERVICES

Please present to a GP at approximately six weeks after your last period. We do not need to repeat a pregnancy test to confirm your own test. We work closely with the community midwife in the surgery and the hospital obstetricians. The antenatal clinics are held on Tuesday mornings (Dr Craven), Wednesday afternoons (Dr Atkinson), and Thursday mornings (midwife). We are pleased to advise on lifestyle if you are planning a pregnancy.

Many surgical procedures can be performed and warts treated at the surgery, thus avoiding delays caused by hospital waiting lists. Please be aware we are subject to the NHS cosmetic exclusion policy which means we cannot undertake surgery for purely cosmetic reasons.

All new patients are requested to complete a health questionnaire. Dependent on the outcome you may be invited for a general health check with a nurse. WART CLINIC

Wart clinics are currently run by Dr Ian Dilley and take place on a Monday afternoon. Patients should initially see any GP to assess whether they can join the waiting list to have warts treated in this clinic. This sometimes requires several treatments, so the waiting list ensures that patients receive all the required treatments before being discharged from this clinic. Please note this clinic is completely separate from our Minor Surgery Clinic.
